ÁNANDA MÁRGA ( Sanskrit meaning ‘Path of Bliss’) was started in 1955 in India by its spiritual founder PR Sarkar (also known as Shrii Shrii Anandamurti, or more simply as “Baba”). The aim of Ananda Marga is to help individuals achieve complete self-realisation and to build a social structure in which the physical, mental and spiritual needs of all people can be fulfilled. As an organization, Ananda Marga has a global network of centers in virtually every country of the world. Its activities encompass a wide range of projects for the welfare of humanity, animals, plants and the whole planet.
